❚❚❚❚❚ IC.■ PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Yes. Expect reactions ranging from confusion and awkwardness to disgust and ... complete freak-out. On his own, Ed is unlikely to initiate any physical affection. The most you'll get is probably a pat on the back. ■ PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Yes. Feel free to do what you like to him, but discuss with me before any permanent damage or automail damage (I'm not opposed to it, really!). For now, I'd like to ... keep his remaining limbs intact, though. He only has 2 okay. Also, character death is a 'No' unless I plan to drop. On the IC side of things, there's a 99% chance of Ed hitting back.
♦ Would your character die for another character currently in the game? He would jump into dangerous situations to save friends, yeah. As for a situation where it's confirmed (to him) that he would die, we'll see???
♦ Would your character kill for another character currently in the game? No. Ed doesn't kill.
♦ Is your character comfortable with and/or willing to mutilate a dead recruit’s body? It would be traumatic for him, but if he had to, he would.
■ RELATIONSHIPS: He loves Winry. I would only be open to an in-game relationship with one (and after a lot of development, too). ■ MENTAL INFORMATION:Ed possesses a sharp mind and a vast amount of knowledge. His thought process is very logical, and it's very easy for him to piece the things he knows together to form new conclusions. He's also constantly thinking, constantly seeking knowledge. It's rare that he puts his mind to rest, really.
If a telepath should dig deeper, they might stumble upon the aftereffects of that one traumatic incident where he and Al tried to revive their mom. Ed actually shows signs of PTSD; he occasionally gets nightmares of that incident and has been seen physically reacting (breaking out into cold sweat, vomiting) when he's near anything related to it. A telepath might pick up on the intense emotions that he has attached to that one incident, feelings of guilt, regret, anguish and a conviction to never repeat that mistake. He has a guilt complex regarding the loss of Al's body (though that is slowly resolving itself) and the knowledge that his brother cannot eat, sleep or feel is painful for him.
■ MEDICAL INFORMATION: Double-amputee. His right arm and left leg are automail prostheses. Like with all automail-users, his joints tend to ache when it rains. He has keloided scars around his automail ports from the forced amputation and surgery, and also a large scar at his left abdomen from an impalement wound. Otherwise, he's healthy and energetic. ■ FAVORITE SENSORY INPUT: Taste. He's got a bit of an oral fixation. ■ OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: ♦ Does your character have any physical, emotional, or psychological triggers?
Anything that reminds him of That Incident. While Ed is fine with talking about it, he - as I've mentioned before - is still suffering from the aftereffects of that intense trauma. He will react particularly badly to that being he had created in place of his mom. Just being near it is enough to make Ed vomit from the panic and anxiety.
He has strong feelings about the value of personhood, especially in regard to unconventional beings like his brother. If it was human once, Ed will always consider it human, no matter what it looks like or what it's been reduced to (the mass of living souls trapped in the Philosopher's Stone are an example; even if they've lost their identity, Ed still considers them human). Any act that dehumanizes another is likely to gain a violent rebuttal from him. In the same vein, Ed opposes biological experimentation involving people. Seeing the horror of Nina, a girl who was forcefully changed into a chimera, was so traumatizing for him that it gave him vivid night terrors.
Ed harbors guilt over his brother's current state of being. Al cannot eat, sleep or feel, and that knowledge brings Ed a lot of pain. Anything that reminds him of that fact will sadden him.
♦ Have they told another recruit of these triggers? He's told Hinata about That Incident.
♦ Under what circumstances will they reveal these triggers? Ed is actually open with the people he trusts. He won't bring up the information on his own, but he's willing to answer questions. He's also likely to talk about his big mistake if he's trying to stop others from following in his footsteps.
■ REBELLIOUS TENDENCIES: Currently, Ed knows better than to attempt any real kind of rebellion, but that isn't to say it isn't in his mind. He's still pondering over the answer, trying to cook something up, and he feels like an ant against the currents at the moment in regard to that. Completely powerless. While he may not be fighting back, he's not shy with his violent objections. He definitely doesn't trust the CDC still (though his opinion of Warriorhead has improved some). When it comes to missions, Ed tends to only do what's compulsory of him.
