Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
Short (as everyone knows). Ed started off the series standing at 4'9", but he's grown a bit after switching to Northern automail so I put him standing at around 5'2" at my canon point. As for build, he's actually quite muscular! It's all squashed in a short and thick little body ...

2. How old is he?
Putting him at 16 at my canon point.

3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch?
Ed won't slouch unless he's feeling like crap.

4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
Healthy, energetic, and really, really fit! While Ed doesn't consciously exercise, he's pretty much running all over the place daily, so that keeps him in shape.
As for physical disabilities, he's a double-amputee (right arm and left leg).

5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
Clumsy and reckless. He's been seen falling quite a few times in canon. Oddly, he becomes very nimble and acrobatic when fighting.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror?
According to May and Buccaneer, not very attractive, lol. You'd think a guy with golden hair and golden eyes would get more girls. Unfortunately for Ed, the lack of height kind of works against him.
As for how he perceives himself, Ed knows he's short. He's just hoping that if he keeps denying it, it'll stop being true. Other than that, he has no opinion on how attractive/unattractive he is. He's much more concerned with how badass he's looking that day.

7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
A little tanned. Terribly, terribly scarred. Ed has huge scars encircling his automail ports from both forced amputation and surgery. They're pink, fleshy and not too pretty. He probably also has a large scar on his abdomen from being impaled.

8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style.
Long, blond, straight and smooth. He either wears them in a single braid or a ponytail. They might be the only thing about his appearance he takes special care of. Also, he purposefully maintains his ahoge for some added height.

9. What color are his eyes?
Golden!

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?
He's short, half made of metal and has golden eyes and hair. You can't miss him ...

11. What are his chief tension centers?

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit?
Ed likes dark colours like black or dark blue. His style is a little gothic (black leather pants, black leather boots, a black jacket), which is kind of embarrassing. He also seems to love cotton trenchcoats with hoods (red in particular. he considers that dinky coat his trademark). Yeah, he mixes those up together ... and looks like a cosplayer 24/7.

On days where he actually has some sense in him, he opts for dress shirts and maybe a blazer. He still insists on the black leather pants though ... Ed why ...

HIS DRESS SENSE IMPROVES A LITTLE IN THE FUTURE. Older Ed has been seen in waistcoats and he actually looks pretty good in them.

this is a weird question .. yeah ??? since he makes them himself, they're made to fit.

Boxers. Always light blue for some reason.

Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
Deep but still childish. He's voiced by the amazing Paku Romi.

2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate?
Loud ...........

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
Amestrian (pretty much English) is all he knows. And no.

4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency?

5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
NO

6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words?
Ed speaks his mind. It's rare that he stops to prepare what he wants to say before he says it. He still manages to say some pretty insightful things despite this.

7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
Pretty there in the middle. Ed's way of speaking is very casual and informal. He can be eloquent when he wants to be, though.

Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart?
QUITE INTELLIGENT, as I'm hoping to portray in my RP. Ed is a State Alchemist, which might be the equivalent of having a phd or some shit in the real world. He seems to know a little bit about everything. It's because he reads so damned much.

2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate?
Ed is ... frequently in life-or-death situations, so he kind of has to be able to think on his feet or he'll be dead by now.

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
Very logical. He pieces the things that he learns together to make new conclusions. Ed is also somewhere between idealistic and practical, in that he often knows what the practical thing to do is but he also wants to pick the option where nobody (not even the enemy) dies.

4. What kind of education has the character had?
Ed stopped formal education at elementary school. (I'm assuming most children in Amestris take on apprenticeships rather than further their education. ) He started off teaching himself alchemy from digging around his father's collection of books. He was then trained by Izumi Curtis and became a good alchemist under her tutelage.

5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about?
ALCHEMY. HE'S GOOD AT NOTHING ELSE. HE ALSO WANTS TO LEARN MORE ALCHEMY SO HE CAN UNDO THE SHIT HE CAUSED.

6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert?
He has traits of both. While Ed makes friends really, really easily and has no problem thriving in social situations, he also seems to light up in his room alone, with a good book.

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
Lol ........

Ed is a hot-head. He doesn't seem to understand the meaning of 'calm down'. Every little slight against him will probably be met with an angry spiel. He's also heavily animated. It's not uncommon to find him shouting, cackling or doing some other ridiculous thing. When not riled up, he seems to step into a rather sullen demeanor too, only smiling when the smile is earned. Despite all that, he's not a misanthrope or anything. All that is just his outside demeanor. He rarely means his abrasive words and angry outbursts. He's a friendly, energetic and very driven person who's always ready to keep moving forward.

8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?

Pretty normal? It depends on the situation.

9. Is he more likely to act, or to react?
Act. He's a go-getter.

10. Which is his default: fight or flight?
Fight. Unless he realizes that it's futile, then his ass is out so fast.

11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
Ed is usually the butt of the joke, not the trickster .... He does make fun of his brother and friends on occasion, but he won't go any further.

12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them?
He probably has PTSD related to that one incident. Nightmares related to it aren't uncommon for him. Also, in that one chapter where he went to dig up the remains of that thing he had created, Ed was physically reacting to the trauma. His stomach started cramping and he also vomited.

13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person?
Daddy leaving, Mama's death, That Incident, the burning of his house, becoming a State Alchemist, Nina's tragedy, seeing Winry help a woman give birth, that one time he promised Winry that the next time he makes her cry, it would be tears of joy, digging up the corpse of that thing he created

14. What does he fear?
Standard shonen things like everyone dying???
Failing at restoring Al's body.

15. What are his hopes or aspirations?
He just wants to restore their bodies and get a happy ending. :(

16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him?
Everything about him is pretty out there, so there's nothing at the moment.

Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents.
Trisha would be your textbook 'Perfect Mom' and he really loves her. Ed's pretty much accepted her death and visits her grave on occasion. He holds a lot of resentment for Hohenheim, partially blaming him for Trisha's death (even though Ed probably knows that it isn't his fault).

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
Al ... is his life .............

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?
HE CAN'T STAND DADDY ..... HE HAS NO ONE ELSE. THE ELRIC FAMILY IS TINY

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them?

Winry and Pinako are practically family for him. Especially since Pinako took care of Ed and Al after their mother died. Izumi is also a kind of violent ... surrogate mom .... AND THEN THERE'S ROY AND HIS LACKEYS, who treat Ed and Al like family. i dont want to elaborate on everyone. just know that ed loves all of them but roy.

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
Winry and Al are his best friends.

6. Does he have other close friends?
Roy is actually a really good friend, even if neither of them will ever admit this. Riza is a close friend too. Ling would be Ed's only male friend his own age in canon. Then, there's Team Greed, whom I'm assuming became pretty close after months of wandering around in the woods.

7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people?
Yes he does!! He just has little to no friends his own age for some reason?? All the people he knows are 10 years his senior or more.

8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends?
It doesn't really matter so much whether they're blood relatives or not.

9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once?
he's 16 ....... he marries winry later on though.

Winry is his first and only crush. He just doesn't know it yet.

I don't think Ed has a type because he's only ever loved Winry.

NOT YET but he'll have 2 kids one day.

He has tons of enemies, a fact he's admitted himself. I guess Roy counts as a rival somewhat.

Ed is loaded in canon. He has so much money and only uses it for daily expenses and automail maintenance.

A state alchemist is equivalent to a major, so yeah he's got rank.

3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others?

He's a hobo. Ed burned down his home and jumps from hotel to hotel. It's a good thing he's rich enough to maintain this.

4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on?
BOOKS. Automail maintenance. Nothing else, really.

5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else?

He's a State Alchemist. He describes it as 'laying in a bed of thorns', so yeah, he doesn't like it so much.

6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time?
Ed loves to read. Other than that, he really has no hobbies. He spends his free time reading, eating or sleeping.

7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?
Ed eats a lot because Al's body uses up his nutrients. Since he can't cook that well, he usually eats at restaurants or buy something back. He seems to like bread.
