[ free food. he suspected that was the main selling point in his internal debate on whether to accept such suspicious garments. but, despite his inner qualms, he was already dressed there. he's about one to two minutes earlier than his projected time, but it was because the venue wasn't too hard to find. moreover, he did haul ass in placing them on his body, if just to give him slightly less time considering what he was actually wearing. honestly, stiff and stuffy things like this didn't really suit him. wasn't exactly flattering to any visual degree?? not that he was the type to be self-conscious about what he wore, but still.
facts were facts. either way, he's keeping an eye out for ed. wherever he was, and if he could reach his line of vision. jk, but he really is looking for him. even if it's more like his eyes are scanning the crowd for the familiar yellow. ]
[ Ed, on the other hand, is quite used to clothes like these. What Ichigo may consider 'formal wear' is something the people in his world wear casually. Ed himself wears dress shirts on occasion, so he's maybe even thrilled to be receiving more clothing at no cost. He's going to the party in a familiar outfit; just a dress shirt, a blazer and the leather pants and boots that he always wears. The ensemble isn't exactly the same as what had came to him in the box, but he doesn't think it'll be a problem?
He spots Ichigo easily enough. The other boy is 6 feet in the air and his bright orange hair could stop traffic, in Ed's opinion (people in his world didn't have wacky hair like that). Hands in his pockets, he makes his way over. ]
-- I meant interpretive dance. [ Maybe he should have been more specific. But he thought it was obvious, because that would be the silliest question on Earth, otherwise!!
Ed himself has never ... done interpretive dance (and it honestly sounds like a ridiculous thing) so he doesn't expect Zuko to have any experience with that. ]
[ To which Zuko's response is to tilt his head and squint his eyes in confusion, giving him an exaggerated shrug. That was his interpretation of "what are you doing?" ]
[ when one was comfortable in their own skin, and in this particular case, in their own garments, it was palpable in the manner they inevitably carried themselves. though, ichigo tended to view formal settings (regardless of pretense or event), he was still keen to the degree of casualness the other male possessed. except, it's in these thoughts that his eyes drift downwards and... huh. there was kind of mismatch there, wasn't it? but, whatever, ichigo wasn't one to judge. as long as he wasn't donning any hot topic pants or ross graphic tees, he didn't have any verbal qualms. even if his expression might have passed some vague sense of judgment.
but, that's all ichigo was. judgment and a strong desire to protect, tbh. though, at any rate, at the greeting, he nods. ] Who else would it be? [ he's straightforward with his words. he tilts his head in the direction of the entrance. ] Should we get going then?
[ the skellies are already awaiting them. awaiting the leather pants. ]
[ Ed stares at the swaying with incredulity, wondering how anything he had said could be interpreted that way, then decides against commenting. ]
Fine. Whatever. You do your thing, I'll do mine. [ Ed starts to move, intending to start to daily routine. Then, he stops, as if realising something. ]
