[ Not really a message, but upon arrival at the apartment in Lhassa, each bedroom will have the following items left on the mattress:

- one complete set of bedding, new.
- two pillows, new.
- one bath towel, one hand towel, and a facecloth, new.
- one of those toiletry kits you can buy at a store, with your basic comb, razor, toothbrush, tube of toothpaste, a pair of trimmers, you know the deal. Because it's Amoi there's probably, like, a bottle of lube in there too or something, let's be real.

Sanji has stocked the kitchen already. There isn't much furniture in the common area, just a table with chairs, and a pretty basic couch, more functional than fancy. ]

Azula knew Ed felt some sort of something for her, too, but that made it even worse to approach him this way. but after the days that she had and the lack of desire to be alone, he was the only person she did feel comfortable enough to run to.

she maybe should have asked if his roommate was there, because then she would be more on the NEVERMIND side (Ed had seen a side of her she never, ever wanted anyone else to be privy to. ever. EVER. do you get her point here) since the thought of someone else witnessing her seeking the company of another was far, far beyond her. there was some dignity she had left, after all.

luckily she decides against it, hoping she can just find a good excuse to justify her presence there if that were the case. ]

[ Oh great, more mystery items showing up in Ed's apartment.

This one is so poorly wrapped as to practically render the act of gift-wrapping irrelevant. But the attempt was made, and there's a tag attached with a poorly drawn scribble that might be a tangleweed -- or it might be an anglerfish with two legs, if one regarded it while under the influence and squinted a whole lot.

Anyway, what's inside is what matters.

It's a fine silk short robe, red with translucent black panels in the sleeves, with some kind of fluid, circular brush stroke in black on the back. There's gold piping, too, and a deep hood. It's actually one of the expensive wares being offered for modeling stints in Hyaline's market a few months ago, if Ed's ever been out that way. ]

[ this is so cute stop it .....

Ed's a little shocked at the gift. He never quite expects to receive anything, so it's always both a pleasant and utterly confusing surprise when it happens. At first, he considers that the gift may be a mistake - left at the wrong door, and meant for someone else - but the odd scribble on the tag informs him that it can only be from one person.

Is that supposed to be a fish???

But if it did come from Luffy, it's remarkably thoughtful. Many of these colours happen to be Ed's favourites, and he's awfully fond of hoods too. Hours later, Luffy will receive a call. ]

[ WOAH! A CALL...

Luffy's usually the one sending out messages, rarely the one receiving them (probably because when he wants to talk, he usually ends up physically hurling himself at the people he wants to talk to), so he's got the usual greeting at the ready: ]

Hi! It's Luffy, the guy who's gonna become Pirate King!

[ what else could he expect, seriously ]

[ Is this how he always greets people? Luffy pls?? ]

Hey, Luffy. This is Ed. [ He's really not sure how to approach this because he's not used to receiving gifts. ]

[ Yeah, that means he did. ]

Yeah, I did. [ And it's a really, really nice piece of clothing. It also seemed to be worth much more than Ed could feasibly afford at the moment. ]

Is there some sort of occasion? [ wow ed just thank the guy stop being suspicious of a gift ]

[ Luffy couldn't afford it back when he acquired it, either -- which is why he stole it. Well, okay, he happened to be wearing it (modeling, wearing, whatever) when his temporary employer refused to pay him for the 'work', so he took off in a huff and realized later that the guy was chasing after him yelling because he'd neglected to pay for the robe.

Anyway, he considered it a consolation prize for having to do a lot of boring stuff for free. ]

Like a birthday or something? Nah. I had it and I wasn't gonna use it, and then I thought about how you probably don't have much stuff and it's really hot in Midas now!

So now you've got something if it's too hot for all that other stuff you usually wear!

Oh. [ He holds up the robe, running his fingers down it thoughtfully. ]

Thanks. This was nice of you. [ He doesn't actually receive gifts often so the robe will most definitely be treasured. ] Did you buy it for yourself? I've never seen you wearing anything like this.

I wore it once! It was for a job in that market in the wastes! I really needed the money for food, 'cept he didn't end up paying me, so I took it.

[ Luffy... sometimes, you just don't admit these things right out loud. ]

[ There was a high chance that their conversation was being tracked. Not that it mattered much, because Luffy was an elite now and nobody would really care to arrest him. ]

[ And if he wasn't going to fork over the bytes, Luffy was going to stroll away with the collateral. Besides, yeah, he's Elite and all now, but if it really came down to it, he'd pay for the robe with a black eye for trying to stiff a pirate in the first place. ]

Fujimaru got himself arrested during the prison situation yesterday.

Wait what the hell?! What happened?! Was he one of the people involved?!

By circumstance and then by his own action, from what I understand.

He's being kept in jail until he goes on trial a handful of days from now.

Did you tell you when his trial is?

Not the exact date. Inquiries to any databases up that I see aren't helpful right now, but it's an awkward time of the day. My guess is the 28th or 29th, from the time-frame he gave me.

Alright. I'll keep that date in mind.
